Christmas Day Games

As things are different for all of us, and many are unable to travel and celebrate Christmas as planned, we have been working on ways to connect each other and to enjoy some of the things that make it such a special time at Mill Grove.

So, before Christmas simply by clicking in the right place you can enjoy the Pre-school Nativity and Christmas songs, and dip into the jokes provided by David Wilkinson who is a regular at Thursday lunch.

On Christmas Eve you may wish to use the programme we have prepared for this year’s communion service.  During this quiet time together, we remember members of the family and friends around the world in prayer as we light a candle and place it on the country where they live.  Those who have been given the code can join a Zoom at 1930 GMT. Triptych One: No welcome in Bethlehem.

On Christmas Day the presentation, Unpacking Christmas at Mill Grove, is available from 0600 GMT, and those who have the code can join a Zoom at 0900 GMT.  The service sheet for this traditional family gathering is available to all. Triptych Two: Great joy at the manger.

On Boxing Day there is a sheet based on the carols by candlelight usually held in the hall after the pantomime. Those who have the code can join the third Zoom at 1700 GMT. Triptych Three: Gifts from the heart. The pantomime, an abridged version of Cinderella, will be screened at 1800 GMT.”
Once the celebrations are over you will still have some souvenirs to savour.  And we would be delighted to have your thoughts, responses, and comments by phone or email.

There will be just a handful of us at Mill Grove over Christmas, but we will continue those customs that are known and loved through the generations, including the singing of carols to our neighbours on Christmas Day.
